Drain Clearing, CCTV Drain Inspections and Repairs

Flow Plumbing Solutions uses the latest technology and tools to diagnose and resolve blocked drain issues in Newcastle. Our team is fully equipped with high-pressure water jetters (hydro jetting) and advanced drain snakes to clear even the most stubborn blockages. Additionally, we utilise CCTV drain cameras to pinpoint the exact cause and location of the blockage. This allows us to show you real-time footage of the problem and explain our plan for fixing it. Identifying the root cause ensures a long-term solution rather than a temporary fix.

We know that clogged drains can occur at any time. For this reason, we offer 24/7 emergency services to address urgent plumbing issues promptly.

Blocked Toilets

A blocked toilet is usually wipes, sanitary products or too much paper. If the toilet gurgles or other drains in the house are slow at the same time, the blockage is further down the sewer line where a plunger won’t reach, so we clear it with the jetter.

Blocked Sewers and Sewer Jetting

Whether it’s clearing a blocked sewer, repairing a broken line or upgrading your entire sewer system, our team has the skills and technology to handle all your sewer-related needs with minimal disruption. We jet sewer lines for residential and commercial properties across Newcastle.

Stormwater and Sub-soil Drainage

Proper stormwater management is crucial to prevent flooding and water damage. If you’re facing problems with a blocked stormwater drain or sub-soil drainage, our drainage experts can diagnose the issue and deliver effective solutions, always with clear, upfront pricing.

Drain Repairs and No-Dig Pipe Relining

If a pipe is cracked, has a leak or is full of tree roots, our no-dig pipe relining creates a new pipe inside the old one, with only one point of access, so your driveway and garden stay intact. It works on sewer lines and stormwater drains. If relining isn’t an option, we’re also experts in traditional dig and repair methods.

Expertise You Can Trust

With a combined 50 years of industry experience, our team brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to every job. We specialise in clearing, upgrading, and relining blocked drains, ensuring a long-term solution to your plumbing problems.

See the Problem for Yourself

We believe in transparent service, which is why our technicians use CCTV drain inspections. This lets us show you exactly what’s causing the blockage in your drains, and how we plan to fix it.

Common Causes and Signs of a Blocked Drain

Blocked drains can occur for various reasons, many of which can be prevented with regular maintenance. Some of the most common culprits include:

  • Tree Root Intrusion
  • Grease and Fat Buildup
  • Foreign Objects, including wipes and sanitary products
  • Hair and Soap Scum
  • Broken or Collapsed Pipes

The common signs are slow drains, a toilet that gurgles, a bad odour from the drain, and water backing up or an overflow from the floor waste, shower or gully.

While professional intervention is necessary for severe blockages, you can take proactive steps to reduce the risk of blocked drains in Newcastle. Our plumbers recommend disposing of grease properly, using drain guards, and flushing drains with hot water. Alternatively, you can schedule regular drain cleaning to identify potential issues before they become significant. We take pride in our work and give it back with a money-back guarantee. Blocked Drain Questions

How much does it cost to unblock a drain?

The final cost depends on the location of the blockage, the required treatment method, and the length of time needed to clear it. Simple blockages between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, can be handled with our $149 blocked drain service (see the terms above). For anything more, we provide upfront pricing after assessing the situation to ensure there are no surprises.

What causes blocked drains?

It can occur due to several reasons, including the accumulation of grease, hair, soap scum, food scraps, and foreign objects. Tree roots infiltrating pipes and structural issues with the drainage system can also lead to blockages.

How can I prevent my drains from getting blocked?

It involves some simple practices: avoid disposing of grease and food scraps down the kitchen sink, don’t flush sanitary products or wipes down the toilet, even the ones labelled flushable, and use drain strainers to catch hair and other debris before it can clog the pipe. Regular maintenance checks can also help identify and mitigate potential issues early.

What are the signs of a blocked drain?

Common signs of a blocked drain include slow draining water, unpleasant odours coming from drains, gurgling sounds from your pipes, and water backing up instead of draining away. If you notice any of these signs, it’s likely you have a blockage.

Can I clear it myself?

While minor blockages can sometimes be cleared with a plunger or over-the-counter drain cleaners, these methods can be ineffective for more significant blockages and may even damage your pipes. For persistent or serious blockages, it’s best to call a blocked drain plumber.

How do you clear blocked drains?

Our team uses a variety of methods to clear blocked drains, depending on the severity and nature of the blockage. Techniques include manual removal, high-pressure water jetting, and, in some cases, pipe relining or replacement.

Do I need a CCTV inspection for a blocked drain?

CCTV drain inspections are not always necessary but can be incredibly helpful in diagnosing complex or recurrent blockages. By providing a clear view inside the pipes, CCTV drain cameras allow us to identify the exact cause and location of the blockage, ensuring a more effective and targeted treatment.

Do you offer emergency services for blocked drains?

Yes, we offer 24/7 emergency services for blocked drains. We understand that some blockages need immediate attention, and our team is ready to respond promptly to prevent further damage or inconvenience.

How long does it take to clear a blocked drain?

The time required to clear a blocked drain depends on the blockage’s severity and location. Simple blockages can often be resolved quickly, while more complex issues may take longer to address. Our team aims to resolve most blockages efficiently, minimising disruption to your home or business.

Can blocked drains cause damage to my property?

If left untreated, a blocked drain can overflow and lead to water or sewage backing up into your home, which can cause property damage, health hazards, and unpleasant odours. Prompt action is essential to prevent such issues and protect your property.

Whether you have an emergency or need preventative maintenance, our expert team is here to help you fix your blocked drains in Newcastle. Call our plumbers now on 0461 408 283.
